Romantic Bedding Tips & Tricks
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder when it comes to romance, and that same principle applies to romantic bedding. That being said, there are some tips and tricks that one can follow to ensure their bed inspires Shakespearean sonnets while pampering their paramour. Below are some recommendations on romantic bedding that every starry-eyed, aspiring stylist should follow to make their dreams come true.
Choose Those Blushy Hues
Since “Rose Quartz” was named Pantone’s Color of the Year in 2016, it has become a staple within interior design community. The color was picked in conjunction with “Serenity” and represented the brand’s stance on “Societal movements toward gender equality and fluidity.” We second that notion and salute to (or recognize) the lovely, versatile shades of blush pink and their contribution to romantic bedding.
Designers are particularly fond of these blush shades for a variety of reasons. At times, different shades can be subtle enough to be considered a neutral. They also pair well with a wide range of other colors, from Burgundy to Grey to Green. The softness of these blush hues is said to produce a calming effect on its surroundings. It also brightens a space just by being itself: fresh, airy and light.
Our Luxe Reversible Duvet in White + Clay is our incorporation of these blush-like shades, but with a slightly warmer undertone. This brings an earthier element to the hue while still keeping it’s lighthearted, whimsical charm. If romantic bedding is what you are going for, “Clay” is an approachable shade of blush to try. It will keep the vibe of your room more relaxed and grounded, while also uplifting and invigorating the mood.
The Softer and Silkier, The Sweeter
Let’s be honest here, who doesn’t love to spend their mornings or evenings nestled in bed with their better half? Promote comfort, ease and dreamy moments with our drapey, silky and luxuriously soft Luxe Sheets – an absolute staple for romantic bedding. Turn that pillow talk into a full-blown pillow date with Netflix and wine or breakfast in bed. Whether it’s been six months or six years, being comfortable undoubtedly influences our ability to open up to our significant other. Comfortability is an essential building block of any long-term partnership, so why not set yourself up for success starting with your sheets?
Build A Base with Neutrals
Neutrals provide the perfect base, allowing other color stories to shine. Build your bed and room with this in mind. Keep bedroom furniture, walls, most wall art, and other secondary accessories (ones that aren’t a focal point) neutral. These are muted shades that lack saturation but can often have an implicit undertone. Safe neutrals to choose from are a variety of different shades or white and beige. These colors go well with just about anything and keep things looking simple, subdued and clean. To tie your neutral base into your blush bedding scheme, we recommend our Knit Throw in Beige and All Seasons Cotton Blanket in White.
Add A Pop of Vibrant Color
Pick a focal point (or a few) and add a pop of color. In this case, we chose a purposeful, passionate red –an obvious for our romantic bedding theme. A great way to incorporate any vibrant pop of color is through throw pillows, throw blankets or with a decorative object or piece of art acting as a center piece. Because your new blush bedding pairs well with so many different hues and is more of a neutral itself, it will only support any pigments it befits, and the 2 (or few) will work together to bring balance and unity to your bedroom.
