LAUNDRY & CARE
At Standard Textile Home, our bed and bath essentials are built to stand the test of time.
To ensure you get the most out of your investment and keep your linens looking and feeling fantastic for years to come, we suggest following these simple laundry care guidelines:
General Tips
- Launder regularly according to care instructions on the label.
- Do not overload the washer or dryer.
- Use only mild detergent.
- Do not wash linens with other items (zippers, buttons and other fabrics may cause damage/snagging/pilling).
- Avoid using harsh chemicals (may cause pilling/damage fabric fibers).
- Use Wool Dryer Balls as a natural alternative to fluff, soften and reduce drying time.
- Be aware that makeup, skin care products, perfumes, whitening toothpaste or any product that contains harsh chemicals (alcohol, alkaline, bleach) can stain or discolor fabrics.

Bedding
- Between washing and drying untwist and fluff up bedding. Repeat as needed throughout the drying cycle.
- Do not over dry or use higher heat settings as this will “set" wrinkles, can cause pilling, may permanently damage fabric fibers and cause excessive shrinkage.
- Remove bedding from the dryer when slightly damp and put it on the bed or fold immediately. Then smooth/hand press to help reduce wrinkling.
Pillows, Inserts
& Toppers
- Do not wash or dry pillows or inserts with other items.
- Use Wool Dryer Balls as a natural alternative to fluff, soften and reduce drying time.
- Dry pillows and inserts separately – it may take 2-3 cycles to ensure inner core is completely dry.
- Use a Pillow Protector to reduce allergens and extend pillow life.
- Use our Envelope Pillowcases which are designed for a snug fit that helps minimize flattening and optimize fill power.
- Hand or machine fluff pillows regularly to reduce compression.
- Please note, our down pillows, insert, and featherbed are dry clean only. Down pillows include a removable, washable 100% cotton cover.
Bath
- Use only mild detergent and the minimum amount recommended for your washing machine as residue can cause odors and make towels feel rough or scratchy.
- Do not use fabric softeners (this will cause towels to lose absorbency).
- To keep towels smelling fresh, wash in the warmest water recommended on the care label, dry them thoroughly (to prevent bacteria growth) and hang after each use.
- Shake and fluff up towels before transferring to the dryer.
- Do not over dry or use higher heat settings as this will “set" wrinkles, can cause pilling, may permanently damage fabric fibers and cause excessive shrinkage.
- Wash and dry new towels separately for the first few laundering cycles. Some shedding and lint buildup is normal.
